We had a great afternoon hiking at Holy Hill yesterday. So pretty with all of the changing leaves. Notice that we have hats on the kiddos. It's getting COLD! It was in the 20's when we woke up yesterday.....and on Saturday we saw SNOW FLURRIES. NOT ready for that--I just put out my fall decorations, I'm not ready for the winter ones!

The coolest person in Camille's life is Gabe. She wants to do whatever he does, and I'm so glad to say that he is GREAT with her. I thought I would post some everyday moments...nothing too exciting, but sometimes times like this are just as fun!

Whee! They could swing for hours. I'm so happy that Gabe has learned how to pump. My left arm was getting more of a workout, as Gabe weighs more! =)

One of the first things we do each morning is have some milk. Well, they have milk and I have a Coke on the rocks! Camille loves to sit on the step right beside Gabe. Don't laugh at the bow while she is still in PJ's....she asks for it! She hates having her hair fall in her face/eyes! Gabe's PJ's are what he calls "combo" PJ's...he likes to pick out shirts and pants that don't match!

Easter 2009

We began our Easter celebration this year with the Germantown Easter Egg Hunt. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon and the kids had a great time. We were happy to see that Camille figured out the concept of an easter egg hunt!

Here the kids are at their second easter egg hunt. Our Moms Club had a Spring party with crafts, games, easter egg hunt...and snacks for kids AND moms! Gabe is helping Camille get some eggs. So sweet! This pic is a fun story. Gabe is sitting by Greer, who is his age and lived in the house we purchased in Germantown. It's fun that our families are forming a friendship that resulted from the sale of a house!

Here is Gabe Easter morning. He first discovered Starburst at the St. Patricks Day parade, and LOVED them. He was thrilled to find some in his Easter basket!

Camille walks her baby in her new stroller. It's so funny for me to see her playing with dolls and such, as Gabe was so not interested in these toys at her age! Must be a boy/girl thing! She walked this stroller around for almost an hour!!!

Here is Camille at Easter Egg Hunt #3. The church we attend really made our Easter Holiday. We went on Friday night for a play detailing the Passion. On Sunday there was a wonderful brunch, an Easter egg hunt for the kids, and then worship. An added bonus was that Gabe and other kids sang two songs during the service! It helped keep the meaning of Easter as the central part of our holiday.

Just thought I'd take a minute to write down some of my favorite things about my kiddos because as much as I'd like to--I know I'll never remember all of the little stuff! I'm a little behind on almost everything these days, so this will be a good way to remember what to put in their memory books!

Camille:
Seems quite content to just walk around everywhere
Has a special smile for daddy when he comes home from work
Likes to fall on top of Gabe when he is on the floor
When I tell her to ask nicely, her response is "Peassss"
Loves cuddling with me in the rocker and reading books
Gets really excited to brush her teeth
If she walks by a door that is partially open, she needs to close it
Is one tough little girl. Not much phases her!
Tries to jump, but her feet never leave the floor!

Gabe:
He told us the other day that Madagascar was "the best movie I've never seen". He's right--he hasn't seen it yet!
Talks about 90% of the time (I think he gets it from Rich!)
Likes to do cannonballs into the pool
Is quite fascinated with vending machines

Loves to play games on the computer. He logs on and navigates the websites all on his own--so scary!!!
Is currently calling me "Mamma Mia"
Has recently learned to breakdance (at least HE thinks it's breakdancing!)

Indoor Fun

We've had lots of fun finding ways to get out of the house and play during this COLD winter! Here are some of the places we've found here in Milwaukee:

Hootie Ski Trip

Rich and I traveled to Breckenridge, CO to vacation with some of my college girlfriends and their guys. It was SO SO much fun. I couldn't go last year (Camille was only 2 months old) so I was really excited to go. A little concerned, too--as I had NEVER skied before and knowing my klutziness.....yikes.

Here's a pic of the girls hanging out in the Cowboy ski house. This house rocked. There's nothing better than hanging out with girls that know you so well! Rich and I in the house. The heated floors and hot tub were big bonuses!

Here's Rich and I before going down an easy run. Skiing went better than I thought it would--as did the ski lifts!

Children's Museum

The day after Christmas we went with my parents and sister to the Milwaukee Children's Museum. It was a fun family outing!

Christmas Morning

Christmas morning was so much fun this year! In this picture, Gabe has just realized that Santa brought him a DVD he had been talking about for months. I can't describe how his face lit up!

Christmas Eve

The church we have been attending here in Wisconsin had a live nativity the weekend before Christmas. It really helped Gabe understand the story of baby Jesus...somewhat. He keeps asking when he can go back to Bethlehem! Here he is as a shepherd...just disregard the shoes! Ha!

Camille started walking on Christmas Eve--exactly 13 months old. She was a late crawler--over 11 months old before she crawled...so that stage sure didn't last long! It was just a few steps at the time around Christmas, but now she's cruising! It's currently her favorite thing--just walking around!

As of today, 44.2 inches of snow have fallen in Milwaukee this season. Welcome to Wisconisn!!!! I'm wondering when I am going to see the grass again--it's been a month and a half! On the bright side--all the white makes it seem a little lighter when it gets dark so early (there's ALWAYS a positive!)

When we moved here, everyone kept talking about how wonderful the Springtime is in Milwaukee. Rich made a good point to me--the Spring isn't any different here--everyone is just SO HAPPY winter is over! Haha!

Haircut time

When we lived in Ohio, Gabe and Rich would go once a month to get their hair cut. They would go to the barber shop and have "Miss Sara" cut their hair, go get donuts, and then go to Menards. Both dad and son looked forward to these outings. We took Gabe back there while visiting, as he REALLY needed a haircut!

This is Camille the morning of her birthday party. It's like she knew it was her special day! We had her party in Findlay, as we were visiting there before going to Dayton for Thanksgiving. I think it's always going to be a crazy time of year with Camille's birthday, Thanksgiving, Gabe's birthday, then Christmas. Whew! I stil can't believe it's been a year!

Camille's "cake". It's actually dirt pudding. All the kids received their own little pot with dirt pudding in it to eat.

Gymnastics fun

Halloween!!!

What a beautiful evening we had for Halloween! I was a little worried that it would be cold, but it was great! We had almost 300 trick-or-treaters. Our new neighborhood was hopping!

Anyone who knew me in middle school or high school should not be the least bit surprised that I dressed Camille as a PIG for her first Halloween!

While Rich took Gabe trick-or-treating, I stayed home with Camille to hand out candy. I pulled her high chair into the entryway to multi-task (as all moms do!) and fed her dinner as I answered the door. I found it ironic that she was eating ham while in her pig costume! =)

We went down to Dayton to see my Grandparents one more time before we moved. We were able to see my cousin Mike's baby Maddison for the first time as well! Gabe had a great time with Mike's daughter Quinn, as you'll see in the pics below!

Pumpkin patch outing

We went for the second year to a hayride and pumpkin patch with all the girls from church. It wasn't the best day, but Gabe didn't care, as he had BOTH of his girls with him! It worked out perfectly that the Tomlinson's were in town for the fun!

Here's Camille on the hayride. As it was raining, she didn't get out to pick a pumpkin. Not that she's walking yet. She JUST started crawling at 11 months old! (just like her brother!)

As soon as the weather warmed up this past spring, we started having our Tuesday playdates at the park. I often think these playdates were more for the moms than the kiddos, although we ALL always had fun! We were able to meet at the park right up until the week before we moved. I especially missed these fun mornings when there were SNOW FLURRIES our first Tuesday in Wisconsin!!!

We went to the Hancock County Fair a few times this summer! Could it be because I love fair food???

My little girl is going to love dirt! She could sit for hours and play with grass! She played happily while I helped myself to some yummy lunch (it was even a few courses, as I couldn't decide what I wanted to eat most!)

After we returned from our trip to Canada, we had fun during August. Here we are riding a little kid's train that is about a mile from our house here in Findlay.
We also went to the Flag City Balloon Fest (Findlay IS Flag City, USA) to watch the launch of all the hot air balloons. That's Gabe on Rich's shoulder in the picture. I've always wanted to ride in a hot air balloon....

Here we are on one of our weekly trips to the library. Gabe loves to see "Big Bird". I think he's kind of a weird looking Big Bird, but it makes the Gabester happy!
Hmm...Camille seems to already love shoes. Am I going to have a little shopper on my hands? Bad news for Rich! =)

We had a fun afternoon today...

Gabe "helped" Rich mow the grass,
While Camille watched on the porch!
This was all followed by a picnic in the park and a trip to the Jolly Dipper for ice cream. A fun day!
